Maj Gen (Rtd) Philip Wachira Kameru

Maj Gen (Rtd) Philip Wachira Kameru is the Chairperson and founding principal of Ongole Group, a vertically integrated agribusiness based in Laikipia County, Kenya.

He has over 45 years of leadership experience in senior military and government security services, and in building enterprise from the ground up. He is the Founder of the Kameru Leadership Foundation, established on the conviction that East Africa's greatest resource is its people, and that leadership is the catalyst that converts talent into impact. He chose agribusiness as the Foundation's focus because it sits at the intersection of livelihoods, enterprise, food security and economic opportunity.

He holds a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University (US) and a Master's in Diplomacy and International Relations from the University of Nairobi. As the Chairperson of KLF Board, he provides strategic direction and a practitioner's perspective on developing ethical, innovative leaders capable of building enterprises that matter.
